Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corp. selects high quality FIMA compressors

Beginning of 2008, China Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corp. (HQCEC) has awarded FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH a contract for the delivery of four recycle gas compressors for a propylene plant, as part of the coal-to-chemical production complex in Yinchuan, Ningxia Autonomous Region in Northwest China.

The 500.000 metric ton per year propylene plant using Novolen’s advanced gas-phase polymerization technology is part of a complex including coal gasifier, methanol and methanol-to-propylene units. This polypropylene plant will produce homopolymers, impact- and random copolymers and has the capability to manufacture the entire spectrum of commercially produced grades.
 
Three of the four compressors are single stage and are used in the homopolymer plant with the function to convey the inert gas back into the reactor. The fourth compressor is 2-stage integrally geared and has this function in the copolymer plant.
 
The mechanical completion is scheduled for 2009.
